BIO
Elodie Dufroux is a French-born choreographer, dancer, and educator based in New York City. Originally from Loudun, France, she began dancing at the age of 7 at a local dance school. After earning a Master’s degree in International Business Management in the United Kingdom, Elodie reignited her passion for movement at London’s premier studios—Pineapple Dance Studios, Dance Works, and Studio 68—before moving to New York City to pursue dance professionally.
Elodie has trained across a range of styles, with a strong foundation in contemporary dance and a deep appreciation for street styles, which she often blends into her choreography. Her movement is musical, athletic, and emotionally driven, incorporating floorwork, partnering, and storytelling through rhythm and physicality.
She has worked with leading choreographers including Hamilton’s Jon Rua, Luis Salgado, and Atlantic Records choreographer Carlos Neto. As a performer, she has appeared in notable venues such as Madison Square Garden, where she danced with the band PHISH during their sold-out New Year’s Eve concert, and the Ziegfeld Theatre for the Telemundo Upfront event.
In addition to her performance work, Elodie has contributed as an assistant choreographer to a variety of commercial campaigns, including Osteo Bi-Flex, NJ Lottery, Kansas Whisky, and Corcoran. Most recently, she served on the creative team for the Off-Broadway show Breakin’ NYC, currently in its second season.
Elodie is premiering her first full-length contemporary dance work, UN-spoken, at BMCC’s Tribeca Performing Arts Center as part of her 2025–26 CUNY Dance Initiative Artist Residency. The performances will take place on April 3rd and 4th at 7:30pm. A deeply personal and socially conscious piece, UN-spoken explores the impact of bullying through the lens of Elodie's own lived experiences. The work invites conversation around emotional trauma, resilience, and shared humanity, blending intimate narrative with powerful physical storytelling to give voice to what often goes unspoken.
Thanks to her O-1 Artist Visa, Elodie continues to grow her career in the U.S. as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, committed to creating meaningful, movement-driven work that connects and communicates across boundaries.
