UN-SPOKEN
Thank you so much for your interest in this upcoming show! I appreciate you taking the time to read through all the details—apologies in advance for the long message, but I want to make sure you have all the necessary information.
About the ShowUN-SPOKEN is a full-length contemporary dance production that delves into the universal experience of bullying and the journey from isolation to empowerment.
This movement-driven piece explores the emotional and psychological impact of social exclusion through contemporary dance and personal storytelling. It highlights resilience, identity, and the long-term effects of bullying, using powerful physicality and evocative imagery to inspire empathy and reflection.
This project is deeply personal to me—I experienced bullying for 10 years and nearly lost myself to it.
Don’t worry, I promise to keep the show balanced and not too heavy, but I wanted to share why this subject means so much to me. With that in mind, I am looking for strong, open-minded, and versatile artists who are willing to create, collaborate, and be vulnerable in this process.
Performance Details
This will be the first draft of an idea I presented to LPAC (LaGuardia Performing Arts Center), with the ultimate goal of staging two performances:
A student matinee for high school/middle school audiences (weekday, early afternoon)
A public performance open to all (Friday or Saturday evening)
Both performances will take place sometime between July 8th and August 18th (exact dates TBD).
Rehearsals & Compensation
Rehearsals will take place in June, with the schedule finalized once casting is complete.
Dancers will receive $1,000 for up to 40 hours of rehearsals and the performances.
How to Audition
If this project speaks to you and you’d like to be involved, I’d love to see you dance—especially if we haven’t danced together before! There are two ways to audition:
1. Submit a reel showcasing your movement.
2. Take my class at Broadway Dance Center tomorrow Saturday, March 15th at 10:30AM or Sunday, March 16th at 2PM
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to hold an official in-person audition due to logistics, so either of these options works!
Thank you again for your time and interest. I truly appreciate it, and I can’t wait to see what we create together!
Much love,
Elodie
